For this blog, I wanted to share this word from my brother in Christ, Rev Will Lee. This brother was instrumental in bringing me to my current church home at EBC. He was the intercessor that prayed for me that day in December 2004 when I stumbled into the sanctuary grief-stricken over the brokenness that imparted onto someone that use to sing in EBC’s choir. I came to apologize, and God introduced me to Rev. Lee.
I am eternally grateful that he let me weep and wail all over his lapel and hasn’t made of fun of me about it since (lol). Good look Rev Lee.

Recently, I've come across a few situations which have led me to realize that some people are unclear about my faith, because I don't shout J-E-S-U-S after every sentence, and they don't hear me pretending to be a 'holier-than-thou' highroller.
Well, deal with it.
I've been a disciple of Christ for 10 years, and the 1st 5 or 6 were spent mired in carnality, like many folks that classify themselves as "Christians." That classification sadly has become something of a misnomer (unsuitable name or descriptor) for those that proclaim Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. I'm embarrassed oftentimes when I hear of the atrocities that people continue to suffer at the hands of Christians (myself included in there too).
We are doing such a sucky (can't think of a real word, so deal with it) job of sharing the saving message of hope, peace and deliverance with the lost, least and last on the lowest rungs of society. Our preoccupation with 'spiritual etiquette' is literary making us less relevant and responsive to people simply begging to know God.
There are times when I'm so heavenly minded that I'm no earthy good... Now, don't make me start pointing at a few you (so, I'll expects some 'amens' below).
This is why I have personally stopped beating people over the head with just the Bible and not showing its practical, livable application to their everyday lives. Yes, oftentimes my blogs present Scripture as allegories to illustrate a contemporary point. Some of your legalistic pharisees have reached out and then once I've dealt with you, deleted yourself because you thought you could tell me how-to man the post that God has assigned me to. This is my walk with God, not yours. Where were you when...
True, there have been moments when some of the content might have been somewhat controversial and in hindsight, even inappropriate.
Which is why I'm so glad, YOU DON'T HAVE A HEAVEN OR HELL TO PUT ME IN. Get over it! That's God's decision, not yours. So, if you've clicked by 'myspace' notice that 'my' with the sole purpose of trying to pillage through my blogs and comments for fodder for your little posts - have a great time. You are really advancing the Kingdom by that. Yes, God is so glorified by your spending your time unproductively mining my blogs for your ramblings.
Let me make a suggestion to you...DO SOMETHING!
DO ANYTHING. But in God's Name, please establish a personal relationship with God beyond all that 'intellectual faith' that you're hiding behind. I've been there and it's a lonely place. When you've matured in your walk, you'll notice that Christ met the people wherever they were in life. But He remained holy not in spite of, but because of His circumstances. He's a Light Bearer in a darken world. I follow Christ. Therefore, I meet the people wherever they are, and I don't lead them to purchase CDs, DVDs to McFaith messages that are watered-down garbage, I point them to the Cross where they should kneel in repentance. Just like I did.
Which is why the 1st chapter of the book is FREE. That's right FREE. Why? Because as the Lord has freely given, so too shall I give. It alllows those with discerning minds to test the fruit of my lips against the revealed character of the will and Word of God, before purchasing the whole book. That's not just good marketing, that's responsible stewardship.
I can't save anyone. Any person that tries to deify me, I delete them from my friends or deal with them accordingly, period. But, don't act like you're on myspace as the 'super apostle' to police the social media spectrum when you're peddling your refrieded sermons that you just insert the latest controversy or trend into the title; repackaged conferences where people become your 'ministry partners' but don't ever receive anything of any tangible value; and promoting your 'brand name' (after you nonetheless) ministry that hasn't been relevant since you came into church crying...way back when.
So, what led me to make this statement you might ask? Well, I came across a brother's blog that asked, "What Do You Stand For?" and it got me to thinking. Now, I believe that man of God was well-meaning in posing this question, so my issue was not to take offense by his words. On the contrary, it led me to make the following reply to his blog:
"When I began in myspace, I was very sanctuary-minded in my profile. It drew a lot saints at first, but they usually only wanted to gossip, backbite and speak against their leadership. This was disheartening, as I moved beyond my infancy, I opened up my virtual sanctuary to the unsaved and seeking, after 1st outlining a very specific "friends" policy. This has not been 100% effective, but it puts forth my values as a man of God, first and foremost. Folks often come with their own agendas, oftentimes it's a 'Sunday widow' seeking a brother that's saved and loves God, who she's willing to try to holla at. These are my sisters in Christ, and I call them "sis" without crossing that line. Their virtual crushes from their desktops are their issues, not mines. I cant pretend that a woman walking in her divine purpose hasn't ever been attractive to me. She's supposed to. But, I'm here for God. I believe that we are not called to erect towers where we simply babble about spiritual matters while the unrepentant wallow in filth. We are called to go out and invite them to the Banquet. So, with that said, I began to reevaluate my methodology, not my theology. I recognized that just as Christ met the prostitute, cheat and drunkard where they are, so too as a follower in the Way of Truth, that is the Father, Son & Holy Spirit, must I. I do not esteem myself above the Lord, I follow Him. So, with that said, simply be open to the Holy Spirit, remain where God places you and exude the example of Christ's love to all that come seeking the Kingdom. Point them lovingly to repentance, and remember we cannot judge the unsaved by the standards of the righteous their ears and eyes do not see truth. That's what we're called to reflect by being here." - Reply to blog, "What Do You Stand For?"
So, I ask the same question that my brother in Christ asked of me, "What Do You Stand For?"
Oh, and some of you folks have been in churches for years and it's a crying shame that you still don't know how to pray for people. Grow up already, so that God can show up in your circumstances. For those of you newer in your walk, or just simply uncertain about prayer (I've been there too, that's why I started writing them out and them God couldn't get me to shut up) here's somethng from one of the Bible study groups I facilitates handouts that I wrote:
Prayer Etiquette 101
People with demons have feelings too. Trying to sweep clean a house that the other person doesn’t think is dirty is useless. They’ll only let it get even dirty again. In fact, it most likely will get even dirtier. True deliverance only comes after a person recognizes their need for healing from a heritage of hurtfulness. That’s why it’s insensitive to just grab people’s hands and start yelling, “Come out demon” all in public.
The proper method, if possible, is to take them aside and ask to pray for them. Give them an opportunity to open their heart to the Gospel.
Once they’re open to prayer, ask if there’s anything they would like to specifically pray about. Listen discerningly.
Fill your mind with the Holy Spirit and pray something like this, “I pray for _________, that they…(they’re specified issue or concern addressed first and foremost to bring them into agreement) and I speak to the ________ (however the demon is manifested in their life, it’s attributes – lust, sickness, slothfulness, etc) and take authority in the Name of Jesus. I command ___________ (affliction) to leave and not return, right now in the Name of Jesus.”
I wanted to share these photos that I've gathered of God's anointed leader for our nation, Barack Obama with his daughters. His fortitude as a man of principle that stands on the integrity of his words, rather than hiding behind speechwriters continually inspires me to reach for my own milestones in life.

Okay, so as you know I used to be this "limelight" dude. You know "that dude." The person usually standing next to, hanging out with, talking to, dating... Yes, "that dude."

I don't struggle with women in the world the way I used to. Don't get it twisted, F-I-N-E is still F-I-N-E, but I'm not called to the ministry of "missionary dating." I thank God for that ministry because it saved me (Good lookin' about K.I.M. and Ms. Theda "the Rose that grew from concrete" - that woman practically prayed a brother into the Kingdom during our late night phone calls about being celibate, and not loving it - lol). But it's not in line with my calling.
That being said, I've tried to broaden my perspective on the elusive "her." She was driving me nuts for a season. Every time I would hear someone praising extra hard in service, I would open my eyes and say, "God, is that her?" I'm absolutely certain I got on His first and last nerve with that question.
After being weaned off women that want the bling for those that exalt the King, I've had some struggles with women of God. I used think that just because a woman loved God, she'd be good. Nah. Sisters have struggles too. They all weren't Delilahs (Judges 16:1-22), Tamars (Genesis 38:1-30) and Jezebels (1 Kings 16:30-33). Many of them were simply women beguiled by that GodSexy (shameless plug...this myspace) anointing reflected in me that I see in them.

You know God is a such a Deliverer. I just got delivered from my Lauryn Hill idolatry. It was serious. No, I'm really serious. I envisioned going to Jamaica witnessing to her. Telling her to grab Zion and the Kids and throwing whatever we could carry into a jeep, heading to the airport and going straight from JFK to church get her baptised in the Holy Spirit. And then she would sing songs like this to me....

Okay, Lauryn just for the record...I would've never took your love for granted. And you would've never had to keep your feelings underground. Aiight, see this is what happens when I just randomly start typing a blog. I hope you folks don't rebuke me. Okay, I'm rebuking myself. Lauryn, I'm still praying for you sis. Hey, I said, "sis." I'm praying for her in a brotherly way. And if God for whatever reason, His will be done, not mines...sees to have sister Lauryn one day want to get baptised and I happen to be there... Well, y'all pray for me. A brother is still but a man.
So, I was going to change the subject but then I thought back to my "Lauryn" moment. Allow me to share, but 1st let's cue up some mood music. Hit them Lauryn 'you could've/should've been Mrs. Jones' Hill...

Okay, so back to the Lauryn Hill fixation. It was the early 90's and one of my peops ran with the Refugee Camp and was trying to link us for hot minute. They would always run into me and say, "I have this sister that if the two of you get together it would be crazy. She's so brillant. Writes crazy. She's got a humble spirit, she's earthy and fly. And she's all hip-hop." I couldn't wait to meet her. In fact, I even took a trip up to Tiffany's just to window shop, just in case. Hey, you never know...Time passed, it never happened.
Fast forward, I see the multi-platinum Fugees like the rest of the world, and of course I think she's definitely a potenital wife-piece outwardly. At that time I was not in Christ and still seeking, into those "higher consciousness" type of women, that smell like frankincense and cocoa butter with their headwraps (there are some Eryka Badu stories too --- one night at this speakeasy at the Brooklyn Moon Cafe...she did this poem to looking right at me 'love jones' style, in front of my live-in girlfriend. That woman still brings that up to this day, if I bump into her --- but that's another story, my bad), naturals, chic hair cuts (a certain Grammy winner was my lust-interest during that period of life --- this woman was a multi-platinum freak, I won't tell, but if you only knew...I pray she's found Jesus after some of the stuff we did) and so Ms. Hill was definitely my type.
Well, we kept bumping into each other always at little "industry" shindigs and this person that kept waving the "Lauryn is your wife" banner would always be there and say, "This is her." And the 1st time, I was like, "Yo, but that's L-Boogie. That's Lauryn Hill." And they said, "Duh. Yeah. Trust me. I know you, and I know her. Trust me. It's like looking in a mirror."
Thus began the idolatry with Ms. Lauryn Hill or as I like to call that season "The Indoctrination in Ms. Lauryn Hill" (hmm...chapter note).
It was really bad too. When she got married (or didn't he "common law" her?)... I know some of their inner-circle people that would give me unsavory information about that brother's comings and goings that I relished hearing (Gossip and malice is sinfulness people). Sadly, I was "hating" and coveting that man's woman.
I repented. And today, I apologize brother. That was wrong. Damn...I'm still thinking about her. I've got to get this Lauryn Hill monkey off my back... Okay, I think I need to look at anohter clip at why it didn't work out with Lauryn and I... Yeah, that's it.

Now, she started this speech (I swore at the time it was telepathetically to me and our souls were entwined --- it was "higher consciousness" season) just the way a wife-piece should. Still today, I break down when I hear this speech. Hold up... Okay, now I was just hating because Mr. Marley showed up with that white headwrap and those white pants on. (enter --- "the Mad Blogger") I couldn't believe he stood there in that outfit. Y'all know that God is going to deal harshly with me later, so start praying for me right now.
Wow! She loved God. She was so committed and filled with purpose to deliver her Christ-centered message of compassion and hope. Her humility made me say at that moment, "I want one." Here's my favorite quote: "We are being true lovers of God." Okay, that stronghold is back. I'm going to need to pray....

You know I just thought about the F-I-N-E women that I've dated, and I do mean F-I-N-E, because of this stronghold.
Everyone from back then knows...there was of course Ms. Samantha...aka "Brooklyn's Finest." Yes, there's a book...although I'm probably going to retitle it since dude from B.K. rocked my title on a screenplay already (congrats, Brooklyn Stand Up!).
Wow. I haven't thought of Sam in years. And I was bewitched just like Darren Stevens too. We both were. She won't deny it either. That's so funny. I tell you this woman had that "earthy" thing to her too. She had those "Lauryn Hill" like qualities. And she was at the time a full-blown beguiler. We never had sex (it was mind-sex), and that's what made our relationship so intense. I used to sleep over a lot. But we never had sex. We would have these nice intimate dinners and really talk. We'd stare across the table into each others swooning eyes, both thinking, "If this table wasn't between us..." I would meet her at her place. Yes, I was creepin' on K.I.M. Get over it. She's has. She just had a son J. Mason III on October 26th by her husband and lifelong "Mr. Jones" (see how God gave my ex the same last name as me, and now our daughter doesn't have to grow up in house with that stain of illegitimacy that many people from fractured families feel? --- that's call God's favor)
Back to "Brooklyn's Finest" Ms. Samantha...we'd spend hours in our fantasy land. I met most of her family and friends. We seriously talked about, and I called myself leaving K.I.M. for her a few times. I packed my bags. K.I.M. unpacked them. I kept seeing her. K.I.M. packed my bags. I unpacked them.
One night, we foolishly watched "love jones" and then we really had that same overnight struggle, and played songs for each other on her desktop until the sun came up. I grew even more smitten in not "hitting it." NOTE: You don't have to be ho to establish a relationship. Then we cooked breakfast. Sam was the first woman, I would've bought feminine hygiene products. Yep, I would've walked right up to the register with the Stay Free Maxi-pads, Summer's Breeze feminine wash (I have sisters), pain killers, chocolate and whatever food cravings she had. But, she never asked...but I would've bought them. Sam grew me up in my intimacy with being able to be around a woman without "entering" her.
In hindsight, I see, for me she was unattainable booty. She told me once, while lying beside me in her butt-naked splendor, "I'm telling you, if you "enter me" then we're in a relationship mister, period. I know you're living with someone, and I accept that, for now. You will figure out where you want to be for life. And If, I'm still available when you're done figuring it out, then fine. We're going to be together for life, period. If not, you'll regret losing me, because I'm a phenomenal woman (she wasn't lying). And you know from the moment we connect that I'm not interested in dating anyone else, and you know that. A week after we met, she even broke up with her last "situation" right in front of me one day, she simply let him know she was into me "completely." And that they were done! Just like that. She was gangsta with her love for me. I'd never seen a woman be that honest before. She reminded me of my mom --- yep, that again (that blog on Thanksgiving) I was whipped. But don't try to take advantage of the fact that I'm diggin' you, and think you're going to sleep with me and then go home to K.I.M. with no consequences. You shouldn't lose sight of the reality that I know, because you invited me to where you live (and she'd met me in front of my building a few times). So, if we sleep together, we both know it's going to be too damn good to sneak around to fully enjoy it. You know you want all of this, so don't try to sampler get the meal. We deserve all of who wants to be in our lives. I told you, don't be selfish. You know how I feel about you. You're the first man, I'm not going to run from. I'm terrible. But, I'm not running. So, I'm going to be a woman, and go and have a conversation with her about that if you're intimate with me (she had the MJB in her too - smile). So, don't enter me without realizing you won't just be exiting my life without consequences."
Of course you know this meant, I went as close to the consequences as I could go. I took her on vacation to the Domincan Republic (and K.I.M. and Taylor picked me up from JFK when I got back, and I ignored her in the airport in front of all of our friends), while I was in a live-in relationship. I spent every free moment with her, monopolizing her time which could've been spent with someone actually available to give her the love she was looking for and deserved. But, hey I started working out again. She made me feel like a man. Listen that MJB joint "Feel Like A Woman" and you'll get a sense of what I'm saying, but from a brother's perspective. Being with her made me feel alive.
I was bewitched.

Perhaps you’ve noticed that those that subscribe to serpentine lifestyle culture using the ‘rainbow’ as a sign of pride, and you simply dismissed it as yet another marketing tactic. It’s not. This is falsehood disguised as truth. Satan the tempter is a bootlegger that corrupts and contaminates the people, places and things of God with a counterfeit Babylonian system rooted in the pride of life.
Does the enemy have you chasing rainbows and replacing God's will?

The rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant with His people. When we forfeit the signs and wonders that He has provided for us as symbols of an ordered life of holiness, we defile our eternal peace accepting counterfeit culture.
Let us take a look at the Word of God and examine the full Gospel of the Kingdom (from Genesis to Revelation). In the Book of Genesis chapter 9 gives the account of God’s establishment of a covenant with EVERY creature on the earth.
Read it for yourself: 12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” (Genesis 9:12-16)
There is no distinction made as to who can take ownership of the rainbow as a social status symbol. It affirms a covenant between God and all creation. To defile it as a symbol for anything other than what it was clearly expressed to be, does not glorify God. For those that say they embrace it as a symbol to communicate that they too are in covenant with God, let us examine God’s criteria for judging those in covenant with Him in verse 5 it says: “4 But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. 5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.”
God will demand an accounting of ALL for their lives, and how they protected their lifeblood (which is represented by our zara, Hebrew for “seed”).
Are you recklessly spreading your lifeblood (semen, etc.) around under the guise of the world’s delusion of “safe sex?”
QUESTION: What should you have to be “safe” from? If you live a life ordered by God’s desire for “wait sex,” you’ll receive who He is preparing especially for you. And you know God’s got great taste. Trust God.
Sisters, you are never once in Scripture commanded to ‘do you’ with our lifeblood. Brothers, we are never once in Scripture encouraged to participate in serpentine-like phallic worship, devouring the lifeblood of our fellow man.
Now, let’s examine the appearance of the Presence of the Lord in the prophetic account of the Book of Ezekiel it reads in verse 1:28: “Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.”
Notice, God sends light bearers (messengers) with a multi-hued halo of His holiness. The rainbow is a sign of God’s Presence, not a symbol for pride of life.
Finally, when the Presence of the Lord is manifested in the Book of Revelation, it reads in verse 4:3 “And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne.” There is a 2nd reference to the rainbow in verse 10:1 “Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars.”
The character of God demonstrates He desires us to be fruitful, divide and multiply. We are not to call to add behavior that will subtract our lifeblood in disobedience to the Word of God. Father does not call us to indulge our flesh with lustful pursuits doing us. He calls us to pursue and subdue by dominion. Those that are doing them operate by domination, hence you’ll notice many of them will use the services of a dominatrix to defile, break and corrupt them into submission to lustfulness. This isn’t godly intimacy, its lust-filled idolatry.
The rainbow is not a symbol of sexual expression, period. It represents God’s covenant. To imply otherwise is a denial of the Word of God for the wants of misguided humanity. Let’s stop trying to bootleg God.
The rainbow is a symbol of God’s covenant. Not a sign for pride of life disobedience to the Word of God. ALL are called to covenant under the rainbow. And ALL will be judged for their misdeeds, defiance and defilement under the covenant of the rainbow.
Let's all lift up our prayers of petition for our leaders
Let us pray: Father God, we pray for an anointing like Jehu so that we might kill the deceptive spirit of Jezebel – which manifests itself as principality of manipulation, lawlessness, greed and rebellion against Your Word and will. Father, as a called generation, we ask for an impartation of the spirit of Elijah, so that we might be sent to prepare for the triumphant return of the Messiah. Let us rejoice like Obadiah when the spirit of Your servant returns to say, “Elijah is here (1 Kings 18:8, 11 & 14)” Send forth Your Divine guidance as our enemies surround us. Protect us O’ Lord God Almighty, our heavenly Father. Use us as Your sons and daughters to thwart the plans of the enemy. Shield us from unrighteousness with the covering of the Blood of our sacrificing Savior Yahushua (Jesus) Christ, amen, amen, amen.

In life, we too often hold onto “dead things” which God has willed to perish. We don’t just grieve – we cleave, and hang onto hopeless situations that leave us feeling helpless. That’s not God’s best, that’s settling for right-now. God desires you have a godly relationship, not just a distraction. Stop and listen to what that person that’s falling short is actually saying to you. Not just with their words, but also their actions and deeds. Look at what their life is showing you.
Are you trying to love someone that’s hellbent on being unlovable?
Break that stronghold and move on. The world, at best can only offer you happiness. But a GodSexy love gives you joy. A GodSexy love gives you a swagger that shows you’re undeniably blessed and highly favored to have a jewel from Father’s crown.
Rise up and claim the love that God has for you.

As this day goes down in history, there will be some that will see the outcome of this days events adversely. The seeds of depression will be sown into their lives. They will suffer regret and disappointment because their candidate of choice did not win.
We must not be insensitive to those who held out hope and came up short. Let's not add to the stronghold of depression in the lives of others. Let's not gloat. We must come together in the spirit of unity as a community, like Israel in the days of Nehemiah and begin the process of rebuilding the walls of our great nation. First at home, and then in our neighborhoods, and so forth.
Today, America...tomorrow wherever God leads.
This is a bittersweet for me. I am honored to be able to cast my ballot for my candidate BARACK OBAMA but I also recognize that JOHN MCCAIN, even if I don't agree with his politics is still a man who will suffer hurt and loss in the coming days. He will be visited by the spirit of depression. Let us lift up petitions to heaven for healing and restoration to the MCCAIN/PALIN campaign in the days ahead.

This issue of The S-Dot Files is dedicated to the memory of Shakir Stewart, Executive Vice President of Def Jam records who tragically took his life this past weekend in his Atlanta home at age 34.

I pray that God brings healing, restoration and deliverance upon the Stewart family in this hour of testing, trial and tribulation.
Hip Hop is stunned at the suicide of Def Jam’s 34-year old executive vice president, Shakir Stewart who was found at 4 p.m. in the bathroom of his Atlanta home and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Island Def Jam Music Group, the label’s parent company released the following official response: “[Def Jam chairman] LA Reid and all of us at Island Def Jam Music Group are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and colleague Shakir Stewart," the statement said. "Shakir was an amazing man in every sense of the word. A truly incredible friend and father who was an inspiration to not only our artists and employees, but to his family and the many people that had the privilege of counting him as a friend. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family at this very difficult time.”
On a personal note, Hip Hop Empowers the Vote! extended an invitation to Mr. Stewart who succeeded Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter in his lucrative position to serve as the keynote speaker for a proposed October townhall discussion at his alma mater Morehouse College. The event was unable to take place due to scheduling conflicts.

My condolences to the Stewart, Island Def Jam Music Group, the bereaved family, friends and loved ones in this hour of grief. I pray that God restores the Stewart family beyond this untimely tragic event.
Apparently this is the Palin's response to voters that have actual questions about her wacky politics. The Governor has recently told a group of school children that as vice president she'll be the "president" of the Senate and able to come in and shake things up.
Now, anyone that's taken civics in school can attest to this flawed unconstitutional statement. The vice president does not vote in the Senate unless there is a tie, which is not something that has happened in recent history. In fact, I can't recall a time that's ever happened. The only individuals allowed to vote in the Senate are senators, so perhaps she's running for the wrong office.
Sarah Palin: In the words of Jay-Z, “You are not ready!”
While I’ve been very critical of the McCain/Palin ticket, I would never stoop so low as to pain him as an un-American because I disagree with his political platform. Since Palin was added to the ticket it has taking a downturn for the worst. She is a hate-monger and a hypocrite. There are countless clips available of her consorting with domestic terrorists like the Alaska Independence Party (AIP), of which her husband Todd was a member until 2002. Imagine that… Yes, this movement against our democracy was founded by anti-patriots trying to seize power locally and inciting others to overthrow our democracy. She even went so far as to be featured at an event for them that past March. Yes, just 7 months ago…she was consorting with avowed domestic terrorist.

Joe Volger “I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America and her damned institutions.”
Governor Palin has been deemed unethical by a bipartisan investigation, yet she refuses to acknowledge the results preferring to cite a report that the GOP independently conducted. Senator McCain is behaving erratically with his flip-flopping on issues that are pertinent to our economic future, and every other day he’s a day late and a dollar short. Neither of the two running mates can even agree on the record over Pakistan or North Korea. Palin has made comments that contradict the would-be Commander-in-Chief on several occasions only to backpedal later. Apparently mavericks develop their opinions in seclusion from their own teammates. This is the result of McCain vetting Palin with less seriousness most people use to select their myspace friends.
Palin placed her “faith” in Condelezza Rice’s “wise decision” over remaining on-message with the GOP ticket. This was quite a surprise to her would-be boss John McCain who denounced the same decision just a few hours before. Hmm…
The national ticket is economically blindsided to the actual interests of Main Street with all the fearful rhetoric that they’re using to cloud the issues with muddy poli-tricks.
I would like you to view these two clips of Americans in their lowest hour of bigotry. These are people that you may recognize from your workplace, church and in your local community. After all the strides that we have made as a nation to see my fellow Americans resorting to such divisive commentary is a stain on our democracy.

The Secret Service must remain vigilant against these separatists that are trying to drive a further wedge between us as Americans. John “Smeagol” McCain like his movie counterpart Gollum wants his “precious” at all costs. His inner battle between Smeagol and Gollum is sad to watch in his quest for the presidential “ring.”

Let’s take a gander at two standout comments between the VP candidates during their Thursday, October 2, 2008 debate.
“Our commanding General in Afghanistan said today, that a surge, the surge principles used in Iraq will not…let me say this again now, our commanding General in Afghanistan said the surge principles in Iraq will not work in Afghanistan.” – Joe Biden
Now in response, his opponent said:
“Well, first McClellan did not say definitively that the surge principles would not work in Afghanistan. Certainly accounting for different conditions in that different country; and conditions are certainly different, we have NATO allies helping us for one. And even the geographic differences are huge. But the counter-insurgency principles also could work in Afghanistan. McClellan didn’t say anything opposite of that.” – Sarah Palin
HISTORY LESSON: The only General McClellan that I’m familiar with name “McClellan” was on active duty during the Civil War. General George Brinton McClellan (December 3, 1826 – October 29, 1885). Perhaps candidate Palin shouldn’t confuse history with actuality, by at least knowing who’s leading the campaign in Afghanistan. Sarah Palin should not misquote and mispronounce the names of those in charge of our war efforts. Especially, if she’s going to quote them as the basis of a rebuttal – this gaffe was amateurish.
FACT: General David McKiernan (not “McClellan” as Palin mispronounced his name – duh!), is head of the NATO coalition in Afghanistan, who was quoted in the Washington Post saying, “The word I don’t use for Afghanistan is ’surge.” The General McKiernan said that “sustained commitment” is needed.
Now, even with all this controversy swirling about BARACK OBAMA still found his sense of humor. That’s a man of class. That’s a man that I’m voting for next PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES on NOVEMBER 4TH.

Hiding behind cowardice, disguised as patriotism won’t shield the fact that John McCain has no viable solutions to our current economic crisis to debate about. Since he is a man out-of-touch without a grasp on what’s going on, he wants to suspend the debate and deny the voting public an opportunity to hear his views on this urgent matter. His suggestion to forego the debate is not something that should be viewed as heroic; it is surprising for someone that loves to beat the war drum. But I guess if you have no ammunition, you don’t want to come brandishing that gun you’ve been waving around to scare folks with those malicious ads.
The “calling onto the carpet” of Oval Office seekers Obama and McCain by Bush into a bailout huddle deprives us of an opportunity to use this time to constructively weigh the evidence that each candidate claims to have.
John McCain: debate dodger?
He’ll show up with his guns blazing for conflict, but he needs to reload when it comes to putting his mouth where his venomous ads have spread deception.
John wants to have a meeting instead of talking about how he can start defeating the challenges to our economy. He’s clueless, so he’d rather go and daydream in the White House rather than talk about and answer his 26-year record of non-accomplishments.
When Obama called McCain to have a bipartisan conversation about the issues, and he then dishonorably turned around to commit to a course of action without giving Obama a courtesy call, he wasn’t showing leadership – he was demonstrating debate dodging.
Since he doesn’t have a plan he wants to play kick the can. More distractions less action that show results – he’s still the same John McCain.
This Hail Mary pass on debating the economic crisis doesn’t undo the reality that John McCain only has silence to answer with to what NBC News political director Chuck Todd called “the economic 9-11” on MSNBC’s Hardball.
He didn’t consult the Presidential Debate commission before making a decision for everyone, that’s not the qualities of a statesman; it’s the attributes of a cowardly bully. One pundit made a scathing comment on MSNBC’s Hardball, “you have to be able to walk a chew gum.” And I agree. Whenever McCain’s campaign is off-message he tries to smokescreen. He did after Obama’s historic address with the announcement of Governor Palin. He’s an expert at changing the subject when people want to talk about things that actually matter.
This is typical John McCain, not change – it’s more of the same.
He’s not a risk taking maverick, he’s a career politician past his prime trying to use hocus-pocus magic because he’s at risk of losing this election. Let’s not allow him to continue to fool us with his stunts. How is someone that’s been on the political trail for months outside of the loop in Washington that’s been critical of this Administration going to swoop in solve our current crisis over a sit down? He’s not, and he knows it. This is posturing, trying to control the conversation because he’s got nothing to say.
McCain Tutorial 101: No documentation loans have sunken our mortgage lending sector and contributed to destabilizing our economy.
Where was John McCain while this was going on? He was in Washington doing nothing. Senator McCain wants to come into an already in-progress conversation in Washington and look like he’s a final-hour hero. He wants to take credit where no credit is due. This is political stunting, not crisis confronting. Those that are familiar with the situation are tasked with dealing with this crisis, as the public, we want to hear the facts as each candidate views them.
John McCain owes a debt to the American public in the form of a debate.
Here’s what happened: 8:30 a.m. Obama called to discuss key point in a joint-statement 2:30 p.m. McCain calls back to discuss the economic crisis 3:05 p.m. McCain goes public suspending the debate without consensus
In the middle of an economic crisis John McCain’s response is “fire” the only person that can be ultimately held accountable.
Campaign manager Rick Davis received nearly $2 million to lobby on behalf of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from 2000-2005 as reported by the New York Times.
MY 2 CENTS: If government seizes control of the marketplace then we’ll no longer be a capitalist economy. This is a free market society, and municipal influence to the degree that this bailout is calling for should alert us to being mindful of what’s being agreed upon. Let’s not just take on a debt that we can’t afford to repay, or that will result in our losing the ability to remain competitive in the global markets as Americans.
With candidate Palin, the GOP is hoping that a strategically crafted picture is worth a thousand votes, which is why they’ve prevented an exchange of words with the out of the loop politician while she brushing up on national issues.
We need an executive leadership model that brings a new perspective on the antiquated policies that have thrown our economy under the bus with partisan politics and in-fighting. We need a leader that knows how to build coalitions and not just someone that wants to topple over all opposition. Many of our allies today were once adversaries. That’s what diplomacy is about, being able to reach beyond a narrow perspective that encompasses the bigger picture.
John McCain is a loose cannon. We don’t need another cowboy in the White House that wants to conduct our global business with a gun in his hand.
McCain’s “boycott” of the debate is a bait and switch tactic very familiar to anyone that earns their living in public relations like me. At an hour when he was experiencing slippage in the polls, he needed a publicity stunt to refocus attention on him. He threw himself in front of an already in-progress deal to reposition himself as the broker. The agreement isn’t about presidential politics it’s about bipartisan interests coming together on one accord for the greater good of the economy.
It comes as no surprise this morning as I was writing this that he did a final announcement that he was resuming politics-as-usual and would attend the debate. The truth is he never intended to not attend in the first place. He could not afford such a costly tactical snafu as not showing up when the country is calling the candidates to come forth with leadership plans and strategies.
John McCain…more of the same, it’s time for real change…BARACK THE VOTE!

McCain Media Highlights August 29, 2005 when the levees broke in New Orleans and we were in a national emergency crisis he didn’t put our “country first,” he appeared that evening , which also happened to be his 69th birthday celebrating with cake and George Bush. Meanwhile Americans drowned surrounded by sewage. Where was his concern for national emergency interests then? Perhaps because he wasn’t losing in the polls for presidency, so he didn’t find it necessary.

February 28, 2007 he announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States and you couldn’t get him out of the spotlight, he was stumping on all media fronts.
How can you tell John McCain is not telling the truth? He says, “I, John McCain approve this message.”
Smells like presidential politics…For the GOP to misuse the influence of the Oval Office so blatantly is yet another sad demonstration of this Administration’s willingness to do whatever it desires to get the results that it deems acceptable.
Having not even read the Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson’s agreement, John McCain conveniently ”suspended” his campaign, which continued to run ads and use surrogates to stump for the ticket. Yet, the maverick didn’t parachute in until after the agreement was already announced for a photo-op at the White House.
Reality check: John McCain you are not John Wayne.
As a citizen of Alaska, Governor Palin feels inherently qualified on foreign policy matters since she can see and read about what’s going in the world. By this rationale, you don’t have to have any actual experience if you live in the neighborhood that can “see” the borders of a foreign power (????). This woman is crazier than crazy with that leap of logic.
The Russians are coming… Sarah Palin just like John McCain is someone that loves to wage war. She’s on record as saying she can practically see the Russians from the third floor of her house. What? She now sounds creepily similar to Haley Joel Osment in the supernatural thriller the “Six Sense” who said, “I see dead people.”
Real-talk: The FICO score of our economy makes us globally a bad-credit risk to lenders.
When the elected members of the congress and senate sat down for six days examining the proposed bailout, John McCain was still “approving” smear ads. He didn’t take that time to even sit down and read the mere three page proposal; he was too busy “approving” messages to distort the facts.
The worn out, battle-weary looking McCain appears old and out of touch in contrast to the photogenic, media-savvy Obama. When you put “country first” you take the time to read a 3-page proposal to get us out of a crisis. You don’t talk about going in with your guns blazing without even knowing what’s going on. John McCain is a political brute that lacks the necessary diplomacy to get things done. He’s not a consensus builder. And that’s not because he’s a maverick, it’s because he’s out of touch with the pulse of the people.
His political meddling by creating these theatrics only muddied the waters. Since he’s been out of the loop in Washington since April it only makes since that he stay the course of the battle in front of him, instead he’s ogling the fixtures in the White House looking for placing to hang his war medals.
John McCain’s ego is a thorn in the GOP’s side and it needs to be pulled out.
For this blog, I’d like to do something different. Since many of you can’t attend the weekly TOB Fellowship Bible study for yourselves, I thought the next best thing to do is to recreate the worship experience within a blog. I’d like to invite you to experience the Presence of God for yourself. Through words, sounds and sights – you can have your own personal experience with Father. This blog is inspired by the many of my friends that are still searching for a place to fellowship. I know it must be difficult to desire to be surrounded by those who nurture, encourage and support you through the strife of day-to-day life. Without the gift of a family of faith, life can be quite difficult. Know that I am praying for you in this season and looking forward to hearing you sharing that praise report.
So, perhaps this humble expression of faith can serve as inspiration for you to reach beyond your comfort zone and allow God to truly lead you to where He desires you to be.

As a brother that has been delivered from a “flesh problem” I am often perplexed with the level of disconnectedness that is shown to Robert Kelly. This brother, like me has been offered access to some of the most ‘bootiful’ women in the world. The allure of lust can be greater than an intoxicant known. For years, I was governed by my lower nature and while my preference wasn’t for younger women, it was excess encounters with countless women. Only God’s grace kept me from contracting a pestilence like HIV/AIDS, which people who did far less got and died.
I speak out about the pitfalls of lust-craft not to condemn, but rather to show compassion to those that are struggling everyday to break free from this addiction.
Let’s keep brothers like Robert Kelly lifted in prayer, because God can fix and remix anyone. Look at me.

So, now that we've heard a really good speech by this former teleprompter reader who was a sports newscaster of the local channel 2 news and a beauty queen, the media has unearthed the truth about Sarah Palin. Perhaps these facts coming to light will quell the frenzy that is stirred up over her historic candidacy, and allow voters to realize that this is nothing more than a veiled attempt to co-opt Team Obama's "Change" swagger.

John McCain, a 20-year establishment politician is running against the establishment that he not only built, but for the last 8 years supported more than 90% of the time with his voting.
Then there’s Troopergate…
Walter Monegan’s removal from office because of his refusal to fire state trooper Mike Wooten who was embroiled in a messy divorce from Governor Palin’s sister, if proven true is a blatant misuse of executive power. Especially since Monegan is on record stating: “I was lead to believe that as long as we kept trooper Wooten on staff, that we were not going to get consideration for additional monies or projects.” This sort of willingness to achieve a personal agenda at all costs, even the nations, falls in line with the current administration’s agenda. On July 19th, Governor Palin publicly denied these accusations, but has since conceded that there have been discussions between her husband’s office and Monegan. Palin has since fired the individual responsible for that “unauthorized” contact, but the damage has already been done to her integrity, since she’s had to retract her public statements. Trooper Wooten was restrained by the issuance of a domestic violence protective order for allegedly tasering his 10-year old stepson, threatening Governor Palin’s father that he would, “eat a (expletive) bullet.”
We’ve already experienced what emotional leadership absent the available facts can do to this country – Iraq. We cannot afford another six-year war with Iran, Afghanistan or anywhere else. that would cripple this economy beyond recovery. Let’s not lose sight of the fact that the current administration which has a 31-percent approval rating also has stumbled over decisions that could’ve been avoided simply by looking at the available facts and not relying on emotionalism to govern.
Setting precedence for choosing a running mate makes me wonder how the maverick will chose the balance of his cabinet members. Maybe he’ll vet them through their myspace friends.
Okay, the best blog is to allow the candidate for the vice presidency of our great nation who spoke at the RNC on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 to speak for herself.

I'll allow this to marinate before adding my commentary.
As I make my way throughout various social communities online - myspace, imeem, facebook, etc. - I come across people interested in "dating" me without having the benefit of actually knowing me. This strikes me as strange at this juncture in my life based upon my past experiences. I'm usually very cautious of persons willing to put themselves out there that like for a profile photo, blogs, bulletins and comments. Not that people don't meet online and live happily ever after. They do. I know quite a few of them. However, that's not my focus online. I know that there are a lot of women that are attracted to my physicality and that's very flattering, but it doesn't distract me from the reality that they're probably not looking at my true essence.
Virtual relationships...not for me!!!
I want real-love. I don't believe that two people have to start off in the same physical location to get to know each other, but I'm not going to allow myself to become beguiled into living for phone calls, texts, e-mails and vacations. I deserve more than a part-time relationship, because I'm offering a full-time man. So, if you truly desire to know me, just simply get to know me with genuineness and God will work out the rest.
Just because you like me, doesn’t mean I’m supposed to like you back. Have you given me ample opportunity to really get to know you? A crush is cute, but that’s not what will sustain a real relationship. It’s hard enough for men and women to make things work in the same cities, so what are you offering by way of distance? Aren’t we separated enough?
I’m not opposed to, but I’m not looking for love in my in-box.
Let me share something with you, that I don't often share with people. And yes, I know I'm an oversharer, so that says a lot. LOL
When I was in my early 20s I developed a long distance pen pal relationship with someone in San Diego. We would write these long, engrossing letters and have these marathon phone conversations for nearly two years before we met. I can honestly say, that was the first opportunity that I got to know a woman's inner self, not her flesh. When we finally "met" in person it was great. Of course since we were in the flesh that was on and poppin' from the gate. We became so consumed with our relationship that we forgot about the reality of everyday life. We simply lived for the phone and mailbox.
That was cool at that point in my life, but when I look back - I could've better spent that time focusing on college and career matters. But I was so consumed with the "fantasy" of "love." That wasn't love, that was blissful deception. Love makes things happens, not fills your head with distractions. Love doesn't consume so much of your day-to-day life without preparing and practicing a plan to attain your hoped for future.
Fast forward a few years into that back and forth relationship of visiting one another every 3-4 months. We spent thousands of dollars, but didn't have anything tangible to show for it, besides vacation photos. Before long, we were cheating with day-to-day distractions in our own cities, yet still selfishly holding onto our fantasy for a relationship. Falsehood became the subtext of our conversations. Eventually, when I went to visit her innocently enough, I discovered during my visit that she was sleeping with another guy. How? The guy called my hotel room and told me flat out, "Dude, I've been boning her almost every day for the last 5 months. Even on her period. She even thought she was pregnant last month. Naw, we only use condoms sometimes. She doesn't like them. She says she likes me to cum in her. Especially her mouth."
I was flabbergasted.
Here was someone that I didn't know telling me intimate details about a woman that I came to town with an engagement ring to propose to, and did the night before. Yep, I was played. And stupidly, I forgave her putting my life at risk, possibly exposing me to HIV/AIDS because I didn't want everyone to know that the woman that I had built up as the "one" was actually just another woman that was hoeing around. No different, better or worst than all the other women around me everyday.
What's my point?
I did not come online to look for a spouse. I came online to geniunely get to know people, period. If God opens a door to a relationship, I'm going to walk through it. I am however, not going to chase rainbows when I have things to do everyday right here where I am. I live in NYC, not California, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas or anywhere else. My assignment from God is to complete the work that I'm called to do where I am, not to focus so much on getting my "territory" enlarged, that I become blindsided to what needs to be down around me.
I can't judge those that choose that path to intimacy, I did. But where I am in life, I am not trying to be outside of God's will, period. If someone is legitimately interested in getting to know me, simply get to know me. Don't make me into an avatar or idol, I am just a man. Remember, I have issues just like other brothers. I struggle with life challenges and setbacks. Just because I love God and I'm not afraid of showing it, doesn't mean that I'm better than anyone or perfect.
I am a man of purpose. And no one is going to derail that purpose. I've been in the muck and mire and I rejoice standing in the Presence of God too much to miss my moment with my Father. This is my season to be the man that God has called me to be. You can be a part of that journey, but you will not distract me from completing period.

THE MAVERICKS Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin affects, but doesn’t ultimately make and bear the immediate responsibility of daughter’s lifestyle choices. She’s her mother, not God. It’s unfortunate that there are people placing judgment on a situation which they have no personal empathy for. The glaring spotlight placed on this young life that is already in crisis is off limits. I find the condemnation heaped upon the Palin family to be very unloving and not in the spirit of demonstrating the compassion and love of Christ. God’s love isn’t for those that do the right thing only. It is available for all who call upon Him for deliverance.
POLITICALLY SPEAKING: This situation frames the reality that republicans, just like democrats have families that are also experiencing real-world challenges. Painting candidate Palin’s family adversely will serve to mobilize those women that have been placed in bondage by the weight of societal scrutiny. It has the potential of sending voters that detractors are trying to scare away directly into supporting the McCain/Palin ticket.

I SAY: I think that it demonstrates superb restraint, class and integrity for Team Obama to not have launched an offensive against this young mother-to-be. I pray that God’s choice prevails November 4th and that we can begin the process of reuniting for the greater good of our union as the greatest nation on earth.

After such a counterpunch to his strategic assaults against BO, the McCain response is to nominate a woman running mate in the hopes of scooping up disappointed Hillary Rodham-Clinton supporters that maybe straddling the fence. MY TWO CENTS: As someone that has been very critical of the Clintons who formerly held top-of-mind status with me, I was overjoyed to see them move beyond their disappointment as unifiers that recognize the greatness of this candidacy and the importance of retaining the legacy that they have and continue to establish. Without a doubt this is one of the classiest concessions in and outside of politics. And Hillary always looks wonderful in those pants suits too (smile).
MY TWO CENTS: Okay, I cannot remain objective at all when it comes to this woman. She has poise, integrity, fortitude and is driven to achieve placing family first and foremost. My daughter loves the Obama girls and their mom and until recently I didn’t get it, but now that I do – I’m glad. She is a wonderful cheerleader for the future leader of a changed world.
NEXT WEEK…equal time will be given to the RNC in order to present a bi-partisan platform so that you, the voting public, can make an informed decision. I encourage each of you to prayerfully consider your choices, weigh the issues and allow your personal convictions to lead you to making the choice that gives voice to your issues and concerns.
